How to get reach the island
|
Ustica can only be reached by sea. From Palermo all year round and in the summertime also from Naples. These 2 cities are regularly served by national and international flights from all the major European airports.
There is a scheduled bus service from Palermo airport to the port at half hour intervals. The journey, which takes approx.45 minutes, guarantees a constant link with the car ferries that travel daily between Palermo and Ustica and the passenger only hovercrafts that run up to 3 times a day during the summer season.
The journey by ferry from Palermo takes 2 hours 30 minutes and only 1 hour 15 minutes by hovercraft.
There is also a very modern and comfortable hovercraft service available four times a week from Naples between 1st June and 30th September. The trip to Ustica takes (depending on sea conditions) approximately 4 hours.
